Shooting Bugs – Partially Sighted, Fully Loaded

BUGS, St.Austell, was one of the first rifle clubs inaugurated for the blind and visually impaired.

There are now over 30 blind and visually impaired shooting clubs in existence across the UK. For Elsie (89) and Kevin (59), who both suffer from multiple degenerative sight conditions, BUGS gives them a rare opportunity to get out of the house and socialise with friends. The group of shooters and volunteers meet once a week for a cup of tea, hours of laughter and some friendly competition. Both Elsie and Kevin boast an impressive collection of medals from competing in the British Open Championships.
